Break for Christmas

Finally the semester is over and no more english! Bre and I both passed all of our classes this semester and now we are just excited to have a break for the next three weeks. I was going to get on here and write about a tradgic event that took place last week but I was to busy with my STUPID finals, but anyways Dusty and I were out running the dogs Sadie and Daisy when we came across a nice buck well as we were turning around I ran over my little 5 month old Sadie, it was the saddest thing ever. When we got her home Bre took good care of her and within two days she was running around and playing just like always. Bre and I we call Sadie our little drama queen because whenever she gets hurt she lets everyone know. This might be the last time we update until after the Hollidays so Happy Hollidays everyone!

Here is our little drama queen she is getting big

I'm thankful for...

I just wanted to get on here and tell my wife how thankful I am for everything she does for me. Bre is a very patient and understanding person, she kind of has to be while being married to me. These last two months I have been working at the Juvenile Justice Center here in cedar city and I have basically been on call/part time, so my schedule has been crazy. I wasn't able to spend much time with her between working and school, but now I just got hired on full time there so I should have more time to be with her. Thanks for your Patience honey I love you!

Here Is Your Update:

Last time I updated this blog was when the semester started now the semester only has a few weeks left. Since the last update there has been:

1. Hunting Season: Derick hasn't been able to hunt as much as he usually would like to but the little bit he has hunted he has loved. He killed a cow elk and a 18in. 2x3. We now have more than enough meat to last us a very long time. I went to the annual family deer hunt and had a blast. Especially with that Dalton. He has got to be the funniest boy out there. I also decided to try and go on the early morning hike with Derick and Rob. Derick originally told me that we would not be doing much hiking. (I was worried I wasn't going to be able to keep up with them) Well we definitely hiked AND I could not keep up with them. I had to tell them to just go on with out me. I think that is the last time I will get up at the butt crack of dawn to go hiking. :) But it was still fun.

2. New Job: Derick got a job working at the Juvenile Justice Center. Although, he works crazy hours and will only get a few hours of sleep in two to three days, he likes his job. And we are very grateful to both have jobs. I don't work much still but I am getting more responsibility and doing some case management. I really enjoy it as well.

3. Dericks B-Day: Dericks birthday was on the 7th. The day before his birthday Rob, Lori, Dusty, Sylv, and the boys took Derick and I out for a birthday dinner at one of Dericks favorite places, Ninja. It was a really fun night being out with everyone. Thank you, We love you guys! Unfortunately, on Dericks birthday he had to go to drill so it wasn't much of a birthday for him. But, later that night I took him to yet another one of his favorites to Texas Roadhouse. Then we got an ice cream cake from DQ and went to my sisters house to celebrate both Derick's and my sisters birthday (whose birthday was the next day) with my family. We then took the ice cream cake home and I put the box in the fridge and went to bed. Well it's and ICE CREAM cake.. Der, Der, Der... it has to go in the freezer. So we ended up having this pudding cake that I scooped up into a bowl and it is now in the freezer.

So other then school and other small things this is the long over due update.

Well, we are so bummed that the summer is over cause it was an awesome summer between the Jamaica trip, all the derbies, buying a house and holiday events. So, we are now back in school. Both Derick and I are taking a full schedule at SUU and I am working 20 hours a week at the Southwest Center. Derick is working hard to get our yard looking good and I am slowing decorating (or trying to decorate) the inside. We definately love having our own home. We also got a new nephew in the family and in a week we will have another one. NO. no kids for us, not for a while still. :) The only kid we have is Sadie, our new puppy. She is so fun to have.

Fun events this summer

This summer has been a pretty good summer even though I have had to be gone a lot. This last week especially has been eventfull, it started last thursday the 6th when we signed for our new house, that was pretty exciting. About an hour after that I left on another fire for about 8 days luckily all of Bre's family and Dusty where around to help Bre move into the house. Thanks guys! During this time we also gained a new member in our little family her name is Sadie, she is a pure breed black lab she is a lot of fun. Fiday night we decided to have a little thank you /house warming BBQ wich turned out to be a lot of fun. After the long week of moving and working we decided to go to the Washington county fair and watch the demolition derby. The derby itself was pretty long but all together we had a lot of fun.

1 Year Anniversary!

Well Bre and I just returned home from Mesquite, where we celebrated our one year Anniversary. It was a lot of fun I think I got my wife hooked on blackjack though, whoops! I can pretty much say that she spoiled me, she got me a gun safe. It is really nice, I don't know how she knew that I wanted it so bad. Bre got a watch that you can switch out the bands. We had a really good time, and I think Bre's favorite part of the trip was the all you can eat crab, man does she like crab. I love you honey!

Jamaica ! Ya mon

Well it's sad to say but our Jamaica trip has come and gone. It was so much fun though I definately recommend it to any couple. The only regret I have is that I should have taken into consideration a travel day, because on the way there the time worked against us and it was an all day thing. The best thing about it was we spent the whole entire week together. We stayed at the Sandals Inn wich out of all of the Sandals resorts was the cheapest, but where Sandals is an all inclusive resort we got to play at all of the Sandals resorts. It is a stay in 1 and play in 10 kind of thing, so in all reality we scored because we payed the cheaper price and experienced the same thing. I would have to say the funnest part of the whole trip was on Wednesday when we went horse riding, the ride consisted of two parts the sight seeing part and then the water part. It was so fun we rode the horses in the ocean and the water was above our waists at times. Every day we did something new and it wore us out, but it was so worth it. Just a little overview if Sandals resorts, its a couples resort so even though kids are awesome it only couples no crying none of that. The dinners everynight where candle light dinners and we ate some of the best food we had ever eatin. It was a great get a way and once again we recommend it to everyone.

Twins B-day cobined with helping Ian

So after church we went down to La Verkin for a birthday party for the twins Aiden and Madison. It was kind of funny when we arrived we saw Bre's dad kevyn and bro n law Dallas leaving the house apparently Ian got his "monster truck" stuck out at the Hurricane dunes. So Derick and Todd (bro n law) went out to help it was funny I have never seen anybody stuck like that it was funny. We got him out, but it made us a little late for the party. The twins got spoiled, but thats ok because they deserve it. It was a pretty special night because for those of you who don't know the twins are originally triplets but Maliah one of the daughters died about 3 weeks later, so Happy Birthday Maliah! This was Derick's first time seeing pictures of her so it was pretty special for him.

Fun trip down the Paria river!

Yeah well we are a few days late on this but oh well! So friday night after Derick finished officiating in Parowan we headed for Panguitch to wait for Todd and his family to catch up so we could head out to Kodachrome. We arrived out there at like 10:00 P.M. and we got camp all set up. Saturday morning we all woke up and Rob and Lori met us at 8:30 A.M. to head down the Paria river. It was a long ride but it was so fun. I think everyone had a good time even Dusty even though he broke his axel on his 4-wheeler. The Paria had more water in it this year than it has in the past so it made things real interesting. There wasn't a lot of "splashing of others" this time, but it was still fun. Dusty and Derick ganged up and did splash there mom and dad pretty good. It was a great weekend and a much needed break before the last two weeks of school. Now we have to settle down and focus on school so hopefully we can pass all of our classes this semester, then Monday the 4th we leave for Jamaica!!!

Easter

We had a lot of fun for Easter, Saturday we went out to Easter with Derick's family it was a lot of fun, but it was also really cold at times. That day we had every kind of weather, it turned out to be a lot of fun though. There where bets placed to see if Derick was going to get his four wheeler stuck this year, sadly enough he didn't. We forgot to take our camera with us so we have no pictures. Then on sunday we drove down to Snow Canyon to have a little get together with Bre's family, it was also with Todd's family (bro n law). For the most part we had good weather it was really warm but the wind was bad. All in all both days we had some great food and it was good to spend time with both of our family's.

Awesome friday

Friday was a long but awesome day. That morning we got up and went down to St George to the temple with Nick and Amber and we got to share that special day with them as they got sealed as a family, when those kids entered the room man was that ever a tear jerker. After that we decided to stay in St G to watch the last Dixie home game it was a lot of fun we went with Todd Shantae and Remington (thats how we got in for free:) thanks guys. Remington was so funny he saw Ragin Red the mascot and he kept saying "here cow" it was hillarious. The day was long but we had a great time.

Nice long weekend

I know that it has been a while since we have updated our blog, but really not much has happened with us. We have both been in school, we think we are doing quite well. Other then that nothing else has been happening. This last weekend was a great break for us though, it started off friday night when we went down to St George for our nephew's (Remington) 2nd birthday it was a lot of fun but that little guy is growing way to fast. On saturday we went back down to St George with Dusty, Sylvia and Quade man for the gun show, well Derick, Dusty and Quade went to the gun show with BreAnn's Dad and brothers. BreAnn and Sylvia went shopping with Bre's sisters. Before we went down to St G we had to have our Valentines breakfast because Bre had to work that night. Pretty much that was the fun part of our weekend, now for the funny part of the weekend. Monday Morning we decided we where going to buy a new mattress, a queen size because our full size was getting to small. Well we went out and got it then we brought it home and well come to find out the stupid box spring wouldn't fit up the stairs. It was not to funny at the time. So we are still in our full bed and our queen is stored and waiting for us to get a different place. At least when we get a new place to live we will have a new bed to go with it.

Fishin with the boys

Today since there was no school and there was some free time Derick, his brothers and his dad went fishing at Otter Creek. For Derick and Dusty it was a pretty fun day, but for Rob and David not so much, they didn't even get a bite. When they all got to the lake Dusty missed two right off the bat and then right after that Derick caught two, then after some time Derick had to walk to the truck to get out of sight for a minute, and Dusty reeled in a fish on Derick's pole, then with in five minutes of that Derick pulled in his third fish. It turned out to be a fun day mostly because we got to spend some time together.

Entering into the new year

For New Years we went to Virgin to be with BreAnn's family it was a lot of fun, that night we stayed up all night and played games til midnight, then at midnight being the rednecks we are we shot off our guns to welcome in the new year ( you can do that stuff in Virgin). After the shooting and the kissing, we got the little ones to go to sleep and we continued to play games. There where a few of us that made it til 5 A.M. That next day (or same day?) they guys went out and shot guns then went "4-wheelin", and the girls went shopping. It was a lot of fun and I think we are all starting to get cought back up on our sleep.

Our First Christmas

This Christmas was one that we could never forget, we got to be with both of our families. On Christmas Eve we where with Bre's family and we had an amazing dinner it was a great way to start out Christmas. After dinner we left to go to Panguitch to be with Derick's family for Christmas day, it was a lot of fun and Derick got to spend his first Christmas not only with his wife, but with his two nephews (they where both born when he was in Iraq). Things definately went awesome and Derick didn't let anyone down Because on Christmas day he went out with his wife and siblings and sure enough got his truck stuck. Luckily his brothers got and rocked his truck enough that he could get out. We had lots of fun.!

Derick and Bre

We got married on August 1st of 2008 in the St George LDS Temple, awesome day! Since then we have been living in Cedar City, While Derick worked for the BLM and BreAnn was commuting to school at Dixie 2 times a week. During this time we have been able to Celebrate the holidays with both of our families. We love being together and hanging out with the family. We realize these blogs are for people to see how friends and there little ones are doing, but we didn't want to feel left out, so we made ourselves a blog too.
